Sometimes, all it takes is one phone call to save a life.
A few weeks ago, we found an injured duck and had no idea what to do. Like many people, we wanted to help but didn't know who to call or how to give the duck the best chance of survival.
That's when we found Horsham Wildlife Rescue.
Their team quickly stepped in, collected the duck, and provided the care it needed. After two weeks of rehabilitation, we were thrilled to hear that the duck had made a full recovery and had been successfully released back into the wild.
It's a reminder that behind every rescued animal is a group of dedicated volunteers giving their time, knowledge and resources to help local wildlife.
More Than Just Seagulls
If you've heard of Horsham Wildlife Rescue, you may know them for the incredible work they do caring for injured and orphaned seagulls. During the busy breeding season, they take in huge numbers of gulls that need specialist care.
But their work doesn't stop there.
Whether it's ducks, foxes, badgers, deer, or any other native wildlife that needs help, they'll do everything they can to rescue, rehabilitate and, where possible, return animals to the wild.
Every Rescue Comes at a Cost
Looking after wildlife isn't cheap.
With so many birds in their care throughout the year, food is one of their biggest ongoing expenses. Every rescued animal needs feeding, warmth, medication and a safe place to recover before it can be released.
Unlike larger organisations, local wildlife rescues rely heavily on donations from the community to continue their work.
How You Can Help Today
We've partnered with Horsham Wildlife Rescue to help raise funds in a simple way.
When you place an order with us you can choose to add frozen sprats, simply leave a note saying:
"Donate to Horsham Wildlife Rescue"
We'll make sure the sprats get hand delivered directly, helping them towards continuing their incredible work caring for local wildlife.
If you'd prefer to donate directly, you can also support their fundraiser or follow their rescue work here:
Every donation, no matter the size, helps provide food, treatment and care for the next injured animal that needs a second chance.
From one very grateful duck, and one very grateful community, thank you. 🦆💚
